About this Dog
Date into Rescue: 3/27/2024 Reason for being in rescue: owner release/owners had human children and could no longer provide for their dogs like they used to. Lola is the daughter of Mimi (also available for adoption) Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Lola is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Lola needs her teeth cleaned. We're waiting on the date from the vet and hope to have that done week of 4/22. She could be adopted before if the adopter wished to take responsibility for this work. We are accepting applications now for Lola and hope to have a new home waiting for her. Weight: 9 lbs Height: 10 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $299 Fence needed? No What kind of home would be best for me? Lola is looking for a lot of what she had before. She needs a canine sibling (and it does not have to be her mom Mimi although she would like it) and a soft bed, lots of treats and loving on and in general a whole lot of being spoiled and pampered. She does not understand what happened to her old home and she wants just like that. Lola's mom even used to cook for her. She will eat dog food, but she would like all the other niceties she is accustomed to once again. What is my personality like? Lola is brave and opinionated. She is confident in many circumstances, but she does want another dog in her life. When she is alone, without a dog in her crate or space, she is vocal about being unhappy with that situation. Lola has not been on a leash here. She needs those skills refreshed. Lola is not crazy about outdoors. It's outside, pee, then right back in thanks. She prefers to be near to all the activity instead of hanging in the yard no matter how nice it is. Lola likes affection. She enjoys lap time with her caregiver. She is very loving. How do I act when I first meet new people? Curious, ready to jump in a lap. Other tips and tidbits: We've estimated Lola's birthday to be 5/11/2014 based on old medical records. The owners were not sure if she was 8 or 10 but the records they supplied said 10 so we're going with that. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
