About this Dog
Date into Rescue: 3/1/2024 Reason for being in rescue: owner release Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Zack is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Weight: 59 lbs Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $599 Fence needed? Yes, Zach is a big boy and requires a yard with a physically fence four (4) feet tall or taller. What kind of home would be best for me? Zack needs an active adopter that will help him expend his massive amount of energy. A family with older kids, late middle school to high school, that Zack could play in your yard with would be ideal. If he tires you out, toss out a toy or two in the backyard and watch him go! Hike, biking, and dog parks would be great exercise in addition to romping and playing in your yard. While Zack is extremely energetic, he is also a loving guy once he's calmed down after playtime. Zack needs a home with an experienced dog owner who is home most of the day and will provide him with all the love and playtime the big guy needs. He would probably do best as an only dog but would be good with another dog if it was calm and mellow. What is my personality like? Zack lives to play. And play. And play some more. This big guy is basically a four-year-old puppy. Zack is a hyper dude that thinks every activity is a game and he's ready to join in that game. He will need training to learn that isn't the case. He MUST have time to romp and play. Zack does not walk well on a leash, so leash training is in order. Zack also needs to be taught basic commands like sit, stay, down, come, and the like. He is clean in his crate so potty training is simply a matter of getting on a schedule and taking him out at the same time every day. Zack barks in his crate and his caregivers are working to correct this behavior. Zack is just a big, goofy, lovable, energetic, and athletic dog that loves all people and everyone that meets him loves him. Zack is good with big dogs; we are unsure about smaller dogs and cats. He enjoys playing with toys. Zach knows his forever family is out there waiting for him. He longs to join them on any and all adventures they will embark upon. Zack can barely contain his excitement thinking about it. Come see Zack and you'll both soon embark upon an adventure you'll never forget. How do I act when I first meet new people? Zack loves all people and thinks everyone is his playmate. Other tips and tidbits: Zack was born on or about 9/6/2019. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
