Yes - Rocco needs a minimum 4' or higher physical fence What kind of home would be best for me? Rocco is a nearly two-year-old, beautiful phantom black and white standard poodle who is looking for his first forever home. Rocco was a breeder release. His breeder has kennels near to her house and rotates the dogs through her home regularly. He's never had a full time, permanent inside home and that is his first thing on this wish list. Rocco wants a home where his adopter will be his constant companion and teacher as well as provide him with all the love he has yet to receive from his very own human. His adopter needs the following in abundance: patience, love, understanding, compassion, forgiveness, calmness, and empathy. Rocco needs to learn how to walk on a leash as well as learn all the basic commands such as sit, stay, down, etc. Please understand Rocco will require extra care transitioning into your home. This is a rehabilitation process for him. Adopting Rocco is a commitment to building trust with him, showing him how to be social, house training him, and possibly dealing with separation anxiety. A home with another dog would be ideal as it will help Rocco learn to be a dog. He needs to be in a home without children because sudden noises and movements frighten him. We know his special adopter, in time, will see Rocco become a wonderful dog and beloved pet. He needs a home with a fenced in yard that is four feet tall or taller. What is my personality like? Rocco is shy, timid, fearful, and very wary of nearly everything. As a breeder release who has lived his life on a country farm, most every suburban experience is brand new to him, from walking on a leash, to interacting with loving people. You will teach him everything. The adopter who opens their heart to this guy will most assuredly have an immensely rewarding experience watching Rocco develop into your BFF. Carolina Poodle Rescue is pleased to work with breeders who are eager to have their dogs find a home. When our site mentions breeder release, we want adopters and supporters to know that this dog will require extra care transitioning into your home. Please know this is a rehabilitation process for the dog. It is a commitment to showing the dog how to be social, building trust, house training, and separation anxiety. Many people use these phrases to describe the rehabilitation process as watching a dog ‘blooming’ or ‘coming out of their shell’. It is a highly rewarding process for you and the dog. We are here to help you support your commitment to your dog. How do I act when I first meet new people? Rocco is uncertain of this new world he has found himself in. He had no idea there were so many people in the world and so much real estate . Rocco needs loving guidance on how to become the dog you want him to be. He's patiently waiting for you to come get him so he can start down the path to the life he's been dreaming of. Other tips and tidbits: Rocco was born on 5/23/2022. Rocco has not been tested yet with cats. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
