Yes, Teddy requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller. What kind of home would be best for me? Your home will be Teddy's first home. Teddy thrives on routine and structure. If your routine oriented, Teddy will learn to trust you. Routine is important to him and routine will will help Teddy relax and open up in your home. Currently, Teddy is working hard on trusting his caregivers at the farm. We have seen him make progress and are looking for someone to take him to the next level. He is very shy in our normal environment although when we've gotten him out for some one on one time, he blossoms. A home that is calm, consistent, and dedicated to routines will help Teddy flourish and find his solid ground in the world. Teddy must have another large dog in the home who can show him the ropes. This boy will take treats and pets once he feels safe with you. Spend an hour with Teddy doing slow, trusting training and he will quickly allow affection. We know with repetition of these activities Teddy will be a loyal friend. At this time, we consider Teddy to be a flight risk. He must have a physically fenced in yard and we prefer his human leash walk him in his yard to continue working on that bond. A GPS collar would be beneficial too. What is my personality like? Teddy is timid and reserved. He is happiest in a group to sit back to watch other dogs interact with people. He is confident that if it's safe for them, it's safe for him and Teddy will engage at that point with people. Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.
