Meet Cardinal, a charming 6-year-old Hound Mix, and one of our beloved long-term residents who has been patiently waiting for the loving home and family he deserves. This handsome boy came to us as a stray, but his heart is still full of love and optimism, and his happy-go-lucky spirit shines as bright as ever. With a heart as big as his 60-pound frame, Cardinal is the perfect blend of playful energy and laid-back charm, making him the ideal companion for anyone looking for a loyal friend to devote his endless love to. One of his cutest traits is his signature “submissive grin,” where he scrunches his nose and sneezes with excitement, letting you know he’s thrilled to be around you! As the official office greeter, Cardinal loves making sure everyone feels welcome, wagging his tail and flashing that grin. After a nice walk or play session, he’s content to settle down for a long nap on the cool office floors, often letting out soft snores as he dreams. He also loves rolling on his back in the yard, especially on top of tennis balls, and relaxing near the door for some prime people and dog watching. Cardinal’s laid-back nature makes him the perfect companion for someone looking for an easygoing, sweet, and loving dog. His favorite thing? For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Cardinal was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Cardinal’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Cardinal’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Cardinal’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
