About this Dog
Meet Simba! This boy was saved by our rescue on the day he was supposed to be euthanized at rural shelter in NC. This gorgeous young red brindle boy has had a time of it though. He initially went into a boarding facility, as we had no foster homes available but luckily we found an adopter pretty soon. However, it became obvious very soon thereafter that Simba was deteriorating in the apartment eironment, he definitely needed a home with a decent sized yard. With nowhere for him to go again, he was placed in an home boarding place but he was crated 24/7 as too many dogs. We quickly set about finding foster homes for most of these dogs. Simba went to a foster home with Mocha, also looking for his furever home. And what a difference a home makes!!! Look at these boys, different dogs! Not a crate in sight, big soft beds, playmates, a big yard to run around and he and Mocha are able to finally be just dogs! We'd love to find them a home together now. Simba is about 1 years old and 61 lbs of solid muscle (but medium in size). Simba really loves people and he would reeeeally love it if you were home, a lot!!!! Both pups will do best in a home with structure, routine, a confident pack leader with patience, building good manners using positive reinforcement only and of course, plenty otmf TLC!. The ideal home for these pups would be with someone who works from home, or retired if they can't adopted together, as they keep each other out of trouble!! but a fairly active family, without small children, and with a fenced yard so they can do zoomies! They would be great companions for someone who likes to walk and play ball. Good with tolerant/easy-going or submissive dogs their size. Both still have puppy energy, so plenty of exercise or tickering each other out! They really love to chase squirrels and other small animals so we recommend no small dogs or cats. If you can open your heart and home to help Simba and Mocha, contact Michaela on 203 859 2153 ASAP. Note: Simba will be foster2adopt until neutered prior to final adoption.
