About this Dog
You can see more beautiful dogs by visiting our Adoptable Dogs page. Meet Shiloh! She is a young Great Pyrenees and Anatolian Shepherd mix. She weighs 70 pounds, but could certainly stand to gain some more! Shiloh is a classic gentle giant - incredibly sweet, loving, and has a heart of gold. Unfortunately, she had a neglectful past, so Shiloh is initially quite shy and timid (the name is quite appropriate - as her foster family lovingly calls her Shy-Shy). But once she knows that she can trust you, she is as loving as they come! She occasionally has moments of fear - the world is scary, after all (like the TV - why would a box talk?!), so her forever family will need some patience while she gains her confidence. This sweet gal is incredibly gentle and kind, always wanting pets, and then MORE pets! She even nudges you with her head and uses her paw, to let you know she needs more love! She gives little kisses when she is especially happy. She thinks she is a lap dog - happily stretching her whole body across your legs, so she can be close to her person. Shiloh absolutely loves other dogs. She enjoys running around the backyard with her foster dog siblings (of all sizes, ages, and genders!). She is very submissive, showing her belly often and rolling over to play super-sweetly. Her gallop is quite hilarious - she looks like a big white gazelle leaping through the yard! She also loves toys, often tossing them up in the air to herself. Shiloh definitely prefers to be outside. - You can find her sunbathing for most of the day, or laying in a nice patch of shade. Since the outdoors is her happy place, she sometimes needs a lot of encouragement to come inside! Shiloh walks well on leash and is crate trained, and she often finds comfort in going into her crate, as it’s a safe place. She barks less than your typical pyrenees, and will require a 6’ fence. This cuddle-bug is wonderful with children, having met many at this point, and is always happy to see them, and incredibly gentle with them. Shiloh would make a wonderful companion to anyone who is willing to show her the love that she deserves! For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. We may consider fostering for some of our dogs who are in boarding.
