Ann is a beautiful Terrier mix mom who found herself in need of a new home when her owner lost theirs. Thankfully she and her young litter were taken in by a one of our southern fosters where she's been showered with love and care. Despite facing tough times, Ann remains a shining example of resilience. She's friendly, outgoing, and incredibly affectionate. Ann's puppies have all found loving homes, and now it's her turn! Ann loves meeting new people, including kids, is friendly with other dogs and is tolerant of cats. She is housetrained, crate trained and walks pretty good on the leash. She is an affectionate girl that would love to be all yours! She is a smart girl and basic group training classes is recommended to help her learn commands, socialize with other humans and dogs, as well as build that fur-ever bond with you! Ann was heartworm positive when she came into rescue, but she's undergone treatment and is now ready for her forever family. If you're ready to open your heart and home to this sweet girl, please reach out. Let's give Ann the happily ever after she truly deserves! Medical Note: This dog is being treated/has been treated for heartworm disease. Untreated heartworm disease can cause lasting damage to the heart, lungs and arteries, and can affect the dog’s health and quality of life even after the parasites are gone, possibly presenting as medical complications and/or new conditions in the future. Whenever possible, SOSARL advocates for following the American Heartworm Society guidelines for heartworm disease treatment as the safest and most effective methods; the active portion of this treatment protocol can take up to four months to complete. Once treatment is completed and the dog tests negative for microfilaria, the dog will be cleared to resume normal activity and will be ready to travel north and be placed into an adoptive home. This dog showed no symptoms of heartworm disease before or during treatment and is expected to complete treatment with no complications. Please ask your Adoption Counselor for the specific treatment protocol used for and current status of this dog. Please check with your vet if you have any questions or concerns about this medical history. An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see HERE for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website: www.sosarl.org/aa/ **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
