Meet Black Betty and you would never know she’s recently come out of hard times. She’s a happy, upbeat girl who just wants to please the people around her. Betty was found in a rural area, half-starved and asking for help. She was brought to a shelter in November and has been there ever since. Shelter life can be hard on dogs, but not Betty! She loves other dogs and everyone she meets and is enchanted with the cats. When she visits the cat room, she is gentle, lies down, and lets them catch her tail. She has experienced home life for a few weeks now and is loving it. She found these awesome things called sneakers and has started taking them outside for inventory!! It's such a fun game, but don't worry she is not chewing on them. She is sweet and loving and gets along well with the resident dog. She is left alone loose during the day and is non-destructive and has not had any accidents. She is good on a leash and loves to meet new people and check out new places. She will drink in all the attention you can give her! Like all rescues, we heartily recommend training for Betty to help her bond with you, help her gain confidence, and be an overall good canine citizen! So, if you are looking for a furry friend whose life’s mission is to love and be loved in return, Betty may be a perfect match! An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see HERE for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website: www.sosarl.org/aa/ **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
