Meet the Plott pups! This litter of 10 pups, 4 beautiful girls and 6 handsome boys, are sweet and lovable. We are thinking these precious pups are Plott Hound mixes. The Plott Hound is a large scent hound, originally bred for hunting bears and are the official state dog of North Carolina. The pups are great around all of us adult humans and think they would be good with older school age kids and teens. Peanut was a bit leary of children at the last adoption event, but warmed up after some time. They all are great around other dogs and hear they are good around cats too! Being just puppies, they will have so much to learn! They'll need house training, crate training and will need to learn to walk on a leash. We strongly recommend that all our dogs attend obedience classes because you get to learn commands together, and it offers an opportunity for confidence building and socialization for the pups. Peanut would love to find a forever family that has lots of time and patience to raise a puppy properly, and who has lots of extra time for loving and cuddles. If you are looking for a puppy, Peanut, or one of his littermates. may be perfect for you! Fill out an application today and let him know that you'd love to have him join your family! Plott litter story: The pups where found abandoned outside a shelter and their mom was not found. Peanut is one of four of the pups in this litter that had been living in the prison program until recently. He and his littermates had 98 women in the unit always wanting to play with them and hold them. These dogs were living in the cat building so they would also play with 28 cats and kittens and one very large angry cat who was not amused with puppies. They learned to respect the cats and their kittens. An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see HERE for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website: www.sosarl.org/aa/ **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
