About this Dog
To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see HERE Age: 2 years (as of 3/5/24) Weight: 15 pounds (as of 5/2/24) Location: RI This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Nerf is Miniature Pinscher mix who was found as a stray. She is a sweet girl that is looking for a forever home. Nerf can be shy and timid with new people, dogs, places and experiences but give her some time and she will warm up. A potential adopter will need to keep this in mind and go slow, work on socialization, give her plenty of exercise, and provide training and structure as she transitions to life in a forever home. She would do best in a low-key household without much foot traffic, no young children, and lots of patience and treats! She needs an adopter who is committed to keeping her world small until she starts to settle in. The adopter should plan to limit visitors to his home, leave the dog at home (crated – not loose!) rather than taking her to parties, soccer games, dog parks, etc, and focus on building a bond through structure and moderate obedience training. She enjoys lap time, but also has fun playing with toys. She has met cats and was a little overbearing at first but was mostly just playful. She is quiet and clean in her crate for up to six hours, and she appears to be fully housebroken. For the most part, she walks calmly on a loose leash but can be hesitant in new situations. Sometimes, while riding in the car, she gets a kick out of barking at people who pass by. Nerf is making great progress, but we recommend obedience training for all of our dogs, because you can learn the commands together, and it helps the dog gain confidence and learn to socialize. It's also fun! Nerf is always affectionate and eager to please, and we think she will be an entertaining companion to anyone who is fortunate enough to bring her home! An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see HERE for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website: www.sosarl.org/aa/ * *Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.

Adopt Nerf *LOCAL* and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Nerf *LOCAL*'s new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Nerf *LOCAL*'s current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Nerf *LOCAL*, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Nerf *LOCAL*'s Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Nerf *LOCAL* was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Nerf *LOCAL*’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
