To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see HERE Age: 8 Months (as of 4/11/24) Weight: 48 lbs (as of 4/15/24) Location: RI This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Meet Margo! Looking for a loyal, playful, and eager to please addition to your family--the minion to your Gru? Look no further! Margo Despicable Me is here . Margo loves playtime and toys (chew, squeak, you name it) but is also happy to chill after she has had appropriate exercise. She has lots of playful, puppy energy. She loves to play chase and to wrestle, buts she may be bitey/ mouthy at times and because of this we do not recommend her for a home with small kids. She gets along with other dogs, but would do best with dogs her size or larger. She would love to have a canine sibling to play with. She is very affectionate and loves attention from her humans. She is house trained and does well in her crate. Margo hasn't had a lot of experiences outside of the home so can be nervous in new situations. She is working on building her confidence and would benefit from someone taking new situations slow with her. We strongly recommend that all of our puppies attend obedience training to learn commands, develop confidence, and socialize with other dogs. Margo is currently in foster with multiple other dogs and doing very well. Think Margo could be your missing piece? Fill out an application today and let her know that you'd love to have her join your family! Medical Note: A littermate of this dog is being treated/has been treated for demodectic mange, a non-contagious skin condition. As there is thought to potentially be a genetic component to predisposition to this condition, this dog has been preventatively treated though does not currently show any bald patches and/or thin fur in places. Please note that demodex can flare up in any dog in times of stress (e.g., transport, transition to a new home, change in food, etc.). As such, the adopter is advised to discuss this condition and best next steps with their veterinarian. SOS recommends that dogs with a history of demodectic mange be kept on regular NexGard or Bravecto for flea/tick prevention for at least 3 months after adoption for adults or until 18 months of age for puppies. Please see here for more information on demodectic mange, and talk with your Adoption Counselor about this condition. Please check with your vet if you have any questions or concerns about this medical history. An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see HERE for more information about this. To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see HERE **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
