About this Dog

I don’t have a name right now but my temporary caregivers call me Buddy. I think I got lost from my home but I might have been dumped. I am a very good boy and my caregivers right now told me they don’t know why anyone would ever get rid of me. They tell me I’m perfect. I am house broke all the way so you don’t have to worry about picking up any of my messes in the house. The only mess I make is if you give me a toy that has stuffing inside. I like to get the stuffing and drag it all over the house but if you get me toys with no stuffing I like to play with them and I don’t make a mess. The nice people who took me in love me very much but they live in a rental house and their landlord says I can’t stay. I have never chewed up any shoes or furniture or anything else that isn’t mine. I really like bones because I can chew on them all day and they are so yummy. I like to play fetch with tennis balls and I bring the ball back every time unless I see a squirrel. I like to chase squirrels. I weigh 32 pounds. I do like to snuggle but when it’s time for bed I prefer to sleep in the same room with you but on the floor. I feel safer that way. I don’t know my birthday but my caregivers right now think I am still a puppy even though they tell me I am full grown. I look like a German Shepard mix but I am a lot littler than they are and I don’t shed like they do. I only shed a little bit. When my caregivers right now rescued me, they took me to their house and they fed me because I was so hungry and thirsty. They even gave me a bath. I don’t remember ever having a bath so I was a little scared but they helped me feel comfortable. They were so proud of me because they said I didn’t have any fleas on me. I don’t know what fleas are but I just know it’s good that I didn’t have any. I had some ticks on me and my caregivers took them off and then checked me all over to make sure they were all gone. I don’t even know what tics are but they were happy when they were gone. I was so dirty when they found me. After my bath and after they picked the tics off, I felt brand new and I knew I was safe with them. I wish I could stay here but I can’t. They are teaching me something called RULES and I hear them talking about rules they have too. They say the rules from their landlord say they can’t have dogs. They also say they won’t give me away until they find a family and a home who will love me and take care of me. So, I’m confused because they aren’t following the rules they have because I am here even though I’m not suppose to be but they don’t let me get away with breaking my rules. My current caregivers took me to see other dogs and I was scared at first but I had so much fun with my new friends after I trusted that they wouldn’t hurt me. I didn’t show any aggression. I haven’t shown any aggression at all and my caregivers have taken me a lot of places. I even like kids. They are my favorite people besides my two taller caregivers who love me a lot. I didn’t know what a leash or collar was when I was found. But my caregivers bought me one and even though it was scary at first I learned to love my walks on my new leash and they told me I am a very smart boy who learns quick. I still have my boy parts and I need to be neutered. So many new words I’m trying to learn. I don’t know what that means but I know my caregivers will get that done and get my shots if it helps make it easier for me to find a new home. I do have a lot of energy but if you play fetch with me or take me for my walks then it’s easier for me to relax. If I don’t get my energy out, I will keep trying to get your attention (I admit that I like attention anyway). But, even if you have days when you are too busy to help me get out for walks or to play fetch, I listen well and am able to control myself for the most part.
