About this Dog

Piglet is 10 and half years old and a Boston Terrier mix. I rescued Piglet in West Virginia when I was 21. I found her at a rest stop on my way home from a road trip. She was about 6 weeks old when I found her and she has been my best friend and companion. Piglet has anxiety and has been on Fluoxetine (Prozac) for over 9 years now. She does not initially do well with strangers if they are in her territory (i.e. our home or yard), but once she settles down, she is typically everyone's best friend and snuggle buddy. She has some food related aggression and does not want any other animals or people, especially children around her when she is eating. She tends to do fairly well with other animals when she is out of her territory or a place that she can openly explore and play. She is high energy and FAST, but now that she is getting older, her wild "Zoomie" spurts tend to be much shorter. She spends the majority of her days curled up in blankets, pillows, beds, couches or snuggled up with me or my husband. Piglet is fixed and we keep her vaccinations up to date. She is currently due for a few, but right now as a last resort, it is looking like we may need to euthanize her. My heart is breaking and I can't imagine having to go through with it, but we have not been able to find anyone willing to take her into their home. In the event that Piglet is re-homed, I would be willing to take her to get her vaccination updates. We would also be willing to pay for the Fluoxetine and provide her food for the rest of her life. We would also donate her beds, treats, a brand new, unopened 30lb bag of her food, etc. Recently Piglet bit our almost 2 year old daughter in the face, while I was getting ready to put food in Piglet's bowl. My daughter was walking across the room to me and Piglet turned around and nipped at her. We ended up in the ER getting stitches. This is not the first time Piglet has nipped at our daughter or someone else, it is just the first time that an ER visit was required for us. As Piglet gets older, we know the behavior is likely going to worsen and the vet has strongly recommended that she be removed from our home and not be put in any situations where children are present. After doing our due diligence and asking friends and family with no luck, we are turning to you for a miracle.

Adopt Piglet and Receive Dogecoin

Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Piglet's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).

How will Piglet receive the Dogecoin?

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Piglet, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Piglet's Dogecoin here.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Piglet was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Piglet’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

What happens to unclaimed funds?

We want the Piglet’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Piglet’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
