About this Cat

This little lady needs a loving forever home where she can settle in for good this time. We were asked to take a kitty to her new home. Her previous family was told they would be evicted if they didn't downsize the number of pets the had. (There were 4 cats of various ages, a litter of several kittens, a dog and even a 🐢 tortoise in the home in addition to 4 the kids!) A lady offered to give Spaz, one of those cats, a new home 🏠 and asked us to pick her up next time we went there because she doesn't drive . 🚗 We did exactly that but when the ladys other cat 🐈 saw Spaz she hissed at her and the lady said she had changed her mind and didn't want her anymore. 😥 The original family doesn't want her and has refused to take her back. 🥺 We would keep her if we didn't already have 2 cats of our own in a 1 bedroom apartment. That is already more than the limited space we have can handle sometimes and certainly not room enough for adding to the mix. (NW Portland Oregon) So if you have the room in your home 🏠 & heart ♥️ to give Spaz the forever home she deserves and needs please let me know! She'll be waiting. 🐈‍⬛ She is fixed and had her first set of shots. She's about 5 or 6 years old and is used to being around children. Spaz prefers a lap but is happy to be nearby if that's too much for the lap owner. 🙂 When we first picked her up she visibly showed signs of apparent neglect. Her fur was dirty and matted in some areas and she had fleas that had been left untreated for a long time and led to her scratching herself raw in some areas, especially around her neck and chin. She was very timid, startled at any loud noise and cowered when we tried to pet her at first. I cried for a long while that first night. Since then she has shown an incredible ability to rebound from whatever had been her past life. She has been bathed and brushed. She has been treated for the fleas and has received care for the irritated skin spots from scratches. Though the are not 100% healed yet they are well on the way there. And she now seeks out petting and laps for snuggling in as long as we talk at a normal voice level. She has made friends with my 2 cats and seems to enjoy the company. They play and chase together and get along well. She has a quirky playful side that emerges a tiny bit more each day. Our 1 bedroom apartment though is very small. It's crowded already and not enough room for the 3 of them together by any means our and our manager had been patient up to this point but has now made it clear this will not be allowed for much longer & given us less than a week now to downsize to 2 cats as that is the limit. So finding her a home is urgent!

Adopt Spaz and Receive Dogecoin

Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Spaz's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).

How will Spaz receive the Dogecoin?

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Spaz, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Spaz's Dogecoin here.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Spaz was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Spaz’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

What is Dogecoin?

"The fun and friendly internet currency."
Dogecoin sets itself apart from other digital currencies with an amazing, vibrant community made up of friendly folks just like you. Dogecoin is a decentralized, peer-to-peer digital currency that enables you to easily send money online.

What happens to unclaimed funds?

We want the Spaz’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Spaz’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
