About this Dog
Lucy is a very, very sweet and loving dog. She loves people, including children, and other dogs. But she is TERRIFIED of cats. So, please, no homes with cats. She is about 10 years old. She was very bonded to our older son who has moved away and could not keep her do to moving to a rental. We don't really have the time or ability to give her a good life. She is a very sweet loving dog who loves everyone and deserves a better life. Because of the cats we have she doesn't like to come upstairs anymore. She has started going to the bathroom inside downstairs (again, likely so she won't have to encounter a cat to go to the back door and alert us she needs to go outside like she used to.) She needs a different living situation where she will receive more attention and can feel safe (from cats) so she will not use the bathroom inside anymore. (She didn't used to do this). She loves to go on car rides, go to the dog park, and she also loves to tear out the front door and run around the neighborhood for an hour or so and then come back home. She is not as good at coming back home when we call her, she will just run in the opposite direction. She has decided this is a game. So, ideally, she will be with someone who is good at training dogs. Also someone who will give her the exercise she needs so she doesn't feel the need to search out the excitement of running free around the neighborhood. She also does not do that well with walking on a leash, but someone more skilled could probably help her to do better at it. Because of these issues, she really needs to have a fenced backyard like she is used to. Also, someone who has the time and patience to train her correctly. She is a very loving, sweet dog and just needs someone with the time and resources to give her a good home. Unfortunately, we are not able to give her what she needs right now. I hope someone out there can and will become her best human friend.

Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Lucy's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Lucy was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Lucy’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
