About this Dog
Bear is a 4 year old male cane corso pit bull mix breed dog, perhaps 70 pounds. He was neglected in a Rochester neighborhood yard, often without food and water, largely abandoned by his owner. His medical history is unknown, except that he is not neutered. He will be seeing a vet soon for wellness check, heart worm testing and vaccinations. Bear is well behaved; while distrustful of strangers who appear suddenly, Bear is fine walking in the neighborhood. He will bark at a knock at the door. He does not get aggressive with other dogs, but wants to chase cats as well as squirrels. He wants to be with his owner, and follows that person everywhere. He whines some when closed in a room for a nap or over nite. He rides in a vehicle without issue. He's terrific company. Bear needs a fenced in yard, but should not be left outside for long periods of time. He also would benefit from an experienced dog owner and dog training to eliminate pulling on a walk. He mostly heels when walking but can be distracted by smells, squirrels and cats. fHe may be fine with another dog, but not cats. He wants to play, but is pretty careful with me with pushing, circling, gentle mouth encounters. He loves to lie next to his human, and get frequent hearty pets. Food has been the primary training tool, but fun attention, games, etc. often have equal value.

Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Bear's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Bear was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Bear’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
