About this Dog

Ellie is a beautiful, loving girl, who is totally devoted to me, her female owner. She’s 50 lbs, has had all scheduled vaccinations is spayed, and very healthy. My girl sleeps through the night without a peep, in her bed in my bedroom. When I get ready to go out she gets in her downstairs bed, waits for a goodbye treat and doesn’t get in any trouble while I’m gone. When the weather is cool she goes in the car with me, and happily waits until I get back, and gets a treat when I’m back in the car. She had a rough life in TN, and has buckshot in her legs. She’s house-trained, knows many commands enjoys swimming, being outside and walking. She doesn’t ask for anything, and is up for everything! She is very protective of her female owner, and has become reactive to other dogs on leashes. The few times I was not proactive with oncoming dogs on leashes she has barked and lunged at them. I fell down twice, when she pulled me. I am very petite (Ellie is half my weight) and I am afraid of really getting hurt. (I am in my 60’s, and was going to adopt a smaller dog this time, but I fell in love with Ellie, as she was so sweet!) We have been working on improving this behavior on every walk, and it’s very stressful when another dog appears. We are in a condo community, with many dogs, and every walk is a potential challenge for me! I always have treats ready, and a positive “you’re okay,” and that helps! Ellie does have some very good doggie friends, (big and small) and they play well together, on and off leash. She would do well in a quiet home with another dog (a fenced yard would be ideal). I’d say no cats, as she is prey-driven, but is doing well in leaving squirrels, chipmunks and birds alone. This is a very smart dog, who looks to her handler for cues, and is very treat-motivated! Ellie will sit at the slider and just watch the yard bunny, deer and coyote, without barking. My dear Ellie is SO sweet and devoted, once she knows someone is kind to her. ❤️🐾

Adopt Ellie and Receive Dogecoin

Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Ellie's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).

How will Ellie receive the Dogecoin?

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Ellie, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Ellie's Dogecoin here.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Ellie was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Ellie’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

What happens to unclaimed funds?

We want the Ellie’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Ellie’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
