About this Dog
Age: 3 years Size: 38 lbs (should be closer to 50 lbs) Estimated breed: Husky Lives with: People; tested well with other dogs! Perfect home: No children under 10 due to typical young pup mouthiness and jumpiness Beautiful Mario was saved from an overcrowded shelter in Maryland, when his time was up and he found himself euthanasia-listed only due to a lack of space. On top of being extremely emaciated at only 35 lbs with every rib sticking out, we suspect Mario may also have something going on neurologically. He’s the tippiest tapper and has quite the wobbly gait when he’s excited, though it’s already seemed to decrease since being in a foster home! We’ll still have our neurologist take a look at Mario to ensure we’re not missing anything medically. He’s bulking up and will be neutered once strong enough to undergo anesthesia! Here's what his temporary fosters have to say about Mario: "Mario is doing great! We can tell he feels safe, as he sleeps well in his kennel with his belly up, snoring contentedly, and gets the zoomies all the time. His crate and house training are going very well - he does all his business outside except for the occasional marking in the apartment hallway, which is to be expected as he gets accustomed to city living. Mario is sweet, good natured, and friendly with dogs and people. He hasn't figured out toys yet and is still awkward when taking treats, almost like he hasn't had much practice. He loves affection from his people and is super snuggly!" All of our dogs are working on their crate and house training. PA Kennel License #18366

Adopt Mario and Receive Mario's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Mario's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Mario's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Mario, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Mario's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Mario was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Mario’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Mario’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Mario’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
