About this Cat
Come meet this goofy tabby boy, Friar! Named for his previously bald head, Friar has been on a prescription food diet to heal his sensitive skin. Now he's got a full head of fur back, but the nickname's kind of stuck! Friar is an active, silly cat who's not afraid to jump high and throw his weight around, especially when in pursuit of a wand toy or a laser. Because of his high energy level, he can get quite fussy when he's bored, so don't be surprised if he pulls the occasional "look at meeee, or maybe I'll just poke this here table object until it falls" move. His naughty side also sometimes manifests as nice lil "love chomps" for attention, for which he gets redirected onto toys. It might help to have him in a household with another cat who can really match his confident energy (or at least roll really well with his shenanigans), but Friar historically may be a little too pushy for more passive kitties that just want to nap all day. Despite the "no thoughts, head empty" look he tends to wear, Friar is actually quite expressive, and will sometimes answer when you talk to him. He's a very smart boy and has learned a few tricks while in foster care- check out his added video on this page to see the tricks he's learned!. If you've got some cat savviness and have enough time and attention to give Friar, then give this handsome little man a chance! He'd benefit from a home with adults only or potentially with older (thinks teens) savvy, cat-experienced kiddos who can keep his training and playtime consistent alongside their parents. Friar would also be a great candidate for "brain games" while he eats, like puzzle feeders and toys that make him work for his food! Age: 1-2 Years old How I came to PAWS: Found as a stray, Friar was surrendered because wasn't getting along with the finder's more laid back cats. Animal ID#: A55900 I am not at the shelter. Please email [email protected] to learn more about me!

Adopt Friar and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Friar's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Friar's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Friar, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Friar's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Friar was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Friar’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
"The fun and friendly internet currency."
Dogecoin sets itself apart from other digital currencies with an amazing, vibrant community made up of friendly folks just like you. Dogecoin is a decentralized, peer-to-peer digital currency that enables you to easily send money online.
Learn more about it on youtube or at dogecoin.com.
We want the Friar’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Friar’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
