About this Dog
Dear Future Family, I’ve had the honor of caring for this tiny but mighty soul before he made his journey to Harrisburg, PA to find you — his forever family. I wanted to write you a little note to help you see what a special boy he truly is. Bambi is about 5 lbs — all heart, all sass, and all Chihuahua temperament, even if he’s only a Chihuahua mixed breed. He’s 8 years old, but don’t let that fool you — he still has a spark in his eyes and a little bounce in his step when he’s exploring the house. He’s got low energy overall and will happily spend most of his day curled in the safety of your lap (his favorite place in the world). But when the mood strikes, he’ll do a slow shuffle to check out what’s going on in each room — always with purpose, always with pride. He’s kind to kids and other dogs, but your family should understand that he’s a small dog with a big personality — the kind who knows what he likes, and how he likes it. That includes mealtimes. Bambi came from a heartbreaking situation where it’s clear he had to fight to survive, especially when it came to food. He’s working on trusting that food will always be there now, and he’s made beautiful progress — but he’ll need a home that continues to be patient and understanding as he heals. He’s house-trained, crate-trained, neutered, vaccinated, and has no medical concerns. He’s not perfect on a leash yet, but like everything else, he’s learning — slowly, gently, bravely. Bambi may be small, but his story is mighty. He’s ready to leave behind survival mode and step into a life where he is cherished, protected, and adored. I’ve done all I can to get him ready for you, and now it’s your turn to show him what it feels like to truly be home. With hope and love, A shelter worker who loves him dearly Apply at https://www.pack9rescue.org/applications/ New Oxford PA 17350; LIC # 9736 We are PA Caring for K-9's, an all-breed dog rescue that is solely run by volunteers. Most of our dogs are rescued from high kill shelters in the South. If the dog is posted, they are still available! Once arriving, these dogs enter foster homes, as we do not have a shelter. We cannot adopt out dogs to a home with dogs that are not fixed or up to date on shots. If interested in adopting, please submit an application online at www.pack9rescue.org. Our adoption fee for altered dogs is $350 and goes directly to saving the lives of more dogs. Our adoption fee for unaltered puppies will be $400 which includes a refundable $50 deposit upon receipt of spay/neuter certificate. 100% of Bambi's balance will be sent to whoever adopts Bambi.
Adopt Bambi and Receive Bambi's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Bambi's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Bambi's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Bambi, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Bambi's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Bambi was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Bambi’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Bambi’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Bambi’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
