Fiona arrived to our rescue on May 31st coming from Houston, TX where she was found as a stray. She is a beautiful, sweet pup that is now in search of her forever home!We believe Fiona is around 6 months old and is currently weighing 31 pounds. Our best guess is that she will end up just being a medium size girl. As for breeds, we don't know for sure, but believe she has some husky and shepherd in her (along with many other breeds). She has one blue eye and one brown eye! She is a truly beautiful dog!Fiona is shy when first meeting people and may take a little while to warm up. She absolutely loves other dogs and being in the company of them helps with her confidence. We think it would be in her best interest to have at least one other playful dog in her future home. We are not sure how she would be with cats. The fact that she is timid, we are looking for more of an adult family.Fiona does great in her crate and will go right in and lay down on command. She is a very smart girl! She is house trained for the most part with just an occassional accident. At night time, she does not sleep in the crate and does completely fine. Her foster mom is working with her on leash walking, but this is going to take her some time and patience. She goes in and out with the other dogs and seems to know her name as she does come when called. The fact that she is just learning how to walk on a leash, she should have a fenced yard. Fiona is a very sweet pup that needs a person, couple or family to help her learn confidence and continue with her training. She is spayed and current on vaccines and preventative. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Fiona was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Fiona’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Fiona’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Fiona’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
