Hi I'm Kato and I am looking for my forever home! I am 2 years old and weigh 8 pounds. I am shy with new people and place, but after a week or two, I am good to go so patience is needed with a new family. I don't like to potty with people watching so I need a fenced yard, but once my toilet duties are out of the way, I do walk well on a leash for hiking and walks wherever you want to go. I ride perfectly in a car, do well for grooming and vet visits, too. I am protective of my family and home, so I do like to tell visitors I am boss, but my foster momma says that's inappropriate, so I have to stay on a leash until I let everyone settle. I love other small dogs to romp and play with then when I'm finished, I love snuggling with my humans. Since I am shy, I don't do well with tiny humans so an adult only home is a must for me. I am still young and learning how to be a good boy so a family of my own must be committed because I am really tired of being bounced around all my life. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Kato was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Kato’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Kato’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Kato’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
