Persephone was dropped off at a local farm outside of Palmyra. She was wearing a collar that looked like it was very old. She was friendly with everyone and the finder wanted to see if she would be adoptable. She came into rescue on May 24th and has adapted very well. She does not attempt to leave the house at all, but does enjoy watching out the windows. Persephone has been checked out by a vet and is very healthy. It is believed that she is about 4-5 yrs old. She was spayed prior to coming into care as she has a scar on her belly. She is currently living at a foster home in Palmyra. She lives with other kitties and 3 dogs. She is good with the dogs, however, would prefer to be an only kitty as she likes to be with her person with their attention on her. She tolerates other kitties as long as they are not in her space. Persephone loves to spend her days looking out the windows at the birds and snoozing in her cat tree. When she wants attention she will come to you and snuggle up next to you and give a few head bumps. She loves chin scratches and can be playful. She has that special diva black panther kitty personality. She will be talkative to greet you, curious about what goes on around the house, lets you know when she wants attention and is pretty low key. She does not prefer small children, but she does like older children who can respect her and not startle her. Persephone's adoption donation is 115.00 and includes age-appropriate vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment, Felv/FIV testing, and microchip. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Persephone (sweet panther kitty) was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Persephone (sweet panther kitty)’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Persephone (sweet panther kitty)’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Persephone (sweet panther kitty)’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
