About this Cat
Meet Penelope! Penelope and her sister Venelope were surrendered to our shelter after their owner decided she no longer wished to care for them. They were stripped from everything they knew, including their 10 year old human sister. They had never seen a vet before, and were terribly anxious, in heat, and very overweight. They were completely shut down after being dropped off at the shelter, and it took us months to overcome their fears and anxiety. We worked with them every day to build back their confidence and got them on a high quality diet to ensure their joints didn't take such a hit with all of their extra weight. They are NOT a bonded pair. They also do not require another cat in the home, they can both be adopted out individually and to homes where they'd be the only cat. Penelope likes Churu and treats. She will approach you for affection, but only when she wants it. She is a very clean cat that does not make a whole lot of noise. She would be ideal for someone that is elderly or someone that does not have small children. We recommend 10 and older. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines & FIV/FELV negative. If you're interested in giving Penelope a forever home, please apply at www.castawaycritters.org/adopt or email [email protected] for inquiries!

100% of Penelope's balance will be sent to whoever adopts Penelope.
Adopt Penelope and Receive Penelope's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Penelope's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Penelope's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Penelope, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Penelope's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Penelope was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Penelope’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Penelope’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Penelope’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
