Birthday: May 28, 2014 Spiro is definitely a tough guy who secretly wants some loving! He may not be the biggest fan of cuddling, but he definitely loves to get some attention when he needs it most! He enjoys scratches around the top of his head, behind his ears and neck, and down the rest of his back, but not his face! That's how he makes his money! His foster has stated that there are times when he wants to be really close to them (typically at night), like he's never truly learned how to cuddle! It's alright though! He knows how to whip up a good batch of biscuits and straddle arms! He'll even walk around in little circles like he's in a trance, trying to figure out how to love you! Eventually, he'll settle on your arm, push your forearm away to make biscuits, grab it, and then pull you closer to him! We think he's secretly a romantic! If you want to earn brownie points with Spiro, there are several things that could win him over! First, he is a HUGE fan of his catnip kicker! Second, he loves windows, especially when there is sunlight pouring out of it! There have been times where his foster has found him cuddled under their blanket because the sunlight was hitting it! Lastly, his biggest love is brushing! He can't get enough of a wire brush caressing his fur! He'll even allow you to touch his face if you do! He's incredibly polite, reaching his paw out for attention or letting you know that he is done with his pets. We think that Spiro would do really well in a home as an only kitty or with an older or passive kitty friend! He's not much for roughhousing, but he doesn't mind a chill kitty to share his company! Spiro's adoption donation is $75 and includes age-appropriate vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment, Felv/FIV testing, microchip, and neuter. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Spiro was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Spiro’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Spiro’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Spiro’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
