About this Cat
Zoey was originally adopted from LCCR as a kitten, but was returned when her owner died. It's a sad thing that happens, but we welcomed her back with open arms! Zoey recently spent two weeks with a family who desperately wanted to adopt her, but their resident cat was having none of it. But the family wrote a rave review of what Zoey was like at their house in the hopes that another family could picture the same situation at their own home and consider adopting her. " We recently had the opportunity to have Zoey for a few weeks. This little girl won my heart. In the beginning she was shy and hid, only coming out for food or litter box when no one is looking. She knows her name so I kept talking with her while she was under the sofa. Her foster mom had told us that cats can take up to three days to decompress after moving to a new home. After about 2 days she started peeking out at me, then walked closer for a head scratch then quickly darted back into hiding. Zoey began trusting me on Day 3. She sat at a distance to watch me put her food down, when I stepped back a bit she ate in front of me. Quite an accomplishment for this shy little girl. By the end of Day 3 she was sitting on my lap. She even let my husband scratch her head. On Day 4 she blossomed. She would sit by her food bowl at the same times everyday waiting for us. She was exploring the house in the open. Whenever I had the opportunity to sit, she would come over, wait for an invitation from me to jump up. Eventually she didn’t need an invitation and just came up on her own. She is just a little love bug. I would have never guessed that she would be so very affectionate. She loves to be touched anywhere. She jumps on my lap, rolls and wiggles purring all the time then eventually settles down for a sound sleep. If she is taking her morning nap under the sofa, I sit down, call her name a few times then she suddenly appears and jumps on my lap to finish her nap. Zoey is so very precious and loving. She keeps herself clean and never misses the litterbox. Just recently she began entertaining herself by batting rolly toys on the floor. She is so funny and quick. She jumps and rolls and dives like a playful kitten. She also has a unique way of drinking her water that I think is hilarious. She dips her paw in the water, licks it then dips again. Over and over. This affectionate little girl is a treasure. She offers a lot of love and should be with someone who can reciprocate it." Zoey's adoption donation is $75 which includes age-appropriate vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment, Felv/FIV testing (negative for both), microchip, and spay.
