About this Dog
Available for adoption! Alena is a female Great Dane who is around 6 years old. She is 120 lbs of pure love! Alena was found as a stray after what could have been a breeder dump since others were found just the same area and it appears that she has been a mama. This lovable lady is crate trained and potty trained. She has been in foster homes with many other dogs and has done great with all of them! She also rides very nicely in the car. This big girl says age is just a number and loves to zoom around the yard, play chase with her foster fur siblings and play with toys. After a short zoom session outside Alena will become a lap dog! She will curl up in a “little” ball and snooze away with you. She is a total love bug and wants all of the cuddles and pets. She will also quickly become your shadow and follow you everywhere (yes, even the bathroom). We would like to see Alena have a fenced in yard in her forever home so she can stretch her legs. A forever family with Great Dane or other large breed dog experience is preferred. If you are interested in adopting Alena please email us at [email protected] (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.) PLEASE READ BEFORE CONTACTING US! We are NOT a shelter: All of our dogs live in private homes with foster families. Come and meet the Almost Home dogs and their fosters at our Meet & Greet events, where you can learn more about our wonderful dogs from the people who live with them, find out which dogs are on their way and when they’ll arrive, and fill out an application to adopt or foster. We cannot adopt to homes where electric-shock fencing systems or training collars are used. For more information on the dangers of electric-shock collars, please visit banshockcollars.ca/studies.php and http://www.hollysden.com/say_no_to_shock.htm (scroll down and click on the "Invisible Fencing Systems" link). We do not have an online adoption application; to request an application, e-mail us at [email protected]. To speed e-mail processing time, be sure to note the name of the dog you are inquiring about in the Subject line. For Meet & Greet times and locations, visit our home page, where you also will find information on our adoption process and fees. FOSTER FAMILIES ARE LIFESAVERS!! Can you open your heart and home for a few weeks to homeless shelter dog? Remember, by fostering a dog, you save TWO lives — that of your foster dog, and that of the dog who takes his place in the shelter! Come to a Meet & Greet and find out if fostering is for you — there's no reward quite like the feeling that you've saved a life ... or two!

Adopt Alena and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Alena's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Alena's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Alena, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Alena's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Alena was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Alena’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Alena’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Alena’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
