About this Dog
3 1/2yr old mix breed. He weighs 60 lbs. I’ve had him for almost two years. Cormac’s DNA showed almost 20 different types but the top 5 which make up 60% are Australian Cattle Dog, Pit Bull, Lab, Chow and Great Pyrenees. He is very loyal and extremely affectionate and lovable. He is smart and easy to train as he is food motivated. He gets along very well with other dogs. He has the best recall of any dog I’ve ever had. He loves his walks and we walk 3+ miles every morning which keeps him happy for the rest of the day. He is not a loose leash walker but has made immense improvement since I got him. He really enjoys hiking in the woods annd runs on the beach. He has even retrieved a dummy for us in a pond. But he is very bad with resource guarding(food and some toys). He can’t wait to get in the car but is a terrible traveler. For long trips I have been giving him sedation . He seems afraid of small children and will jump back and bark at them. I am 82 years old and though I love him and we live well together since my husband passed away a few months ago he has started resource guarding me. Recently he seemed very agressive towards a young man who was trying to show me something on his phone and last week as I was trying to to secure him in the car for a trip he bit me. This car routine has been going on for a long time. They weren’t terrible bites but I’m just uncomfortable around him now and think he is too much dog for me. I am too social and he can be unpredictable. For the right person he would be a wonderful dog. Thank for considering Cormac.
