About this Dog

Hello, My name is Piper. I am assisting a friend in re-homing his dog, Roxi. I am reaching out to your organization to inquire about accepting this dog into your rehome/adoption program. Please see below for doggy details: Roxi is a beautiful, 6 yr old female Purebred German Shepherd. She takes a few minutes to warm up to you, but once she is comfortable, she is a very sweet dog, especially if you give her a treat. Unfortunately, Roxi is HIGHLY reactive. She is reactive to other dogs of all types, regardless of size or sex. She is reactive to other creatures passing by including squirrels, cats, and all prey animals. She is reactive to bikes, skates, scooters, men, and children. She seems much more comfortable around women. However, it should be noted that although Roxi is reactive towards men, her current owner is male and Roxi seems to love him, so I would not necessarily say that her new owner can't also be male. Roxi is currently living with her owner at a drug rehab center (owner has substance abuse issues). Roxi is no longer able to stay at this center due to recent issues with other residents at the rehab center. Like all German Shepherds, Roxi is highly intelligent and trainable. Sadly, she has not received the stability she needs to bring out the best in her breed. Roxi would thrive in a calm, consistent, child-free environment where she is the only dog or pet in the home. She will need an owner who is very experienced with the GSD breed, is patient and kind, and also incredibly strong both mentally and physically. Note: Roxi is current on her vaccinations and is spayed. If interested in giving Roxi a new and better chapter in life, please contact Piper at 213.393.9133 (text is best)or email at [email protected] Please contact Piper at 213.393.9133 (text is best) or email at [email protected]

Adopt Roxi and Receive Roxi's Fund

Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Roxi's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.

How will Roxi receive the contribution?

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Roxi, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Roxi's contribution here.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Roxi was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Roxi’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

What happens to unclaimed funds?

We want the Roxi’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Roxi’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
