About this Cat
Meet Lucky – The Sweetest Gentle Giant Looking for a New Lap to Love Lucky is a large, loving, and incredibly gentle cat who’s looking for a quiet, caring home after a life devoted to his favorite person—his mom, who is now in late-stage Alzheimer’s and moving into memory care. He has been her constant companion in a small studio apartment and has received all the love (and treats!) a kitty could ever hope for. Weighing in at 23 pounds, Lucky is definitely a big boy, but every ounce of him is sweet, affectionate charm. He’s not much for being picked up—he’s a little heavy for that—but he adores being petted, curling up next to your legs on a recliner, or snoozing on the bed nearby. He’s been the perfect companion in a calm environment and would do best in a similar home where he can continue to be someone's beloved shadow. Lucky is also a bit of a character—he always runs to the door when you arrive, and he’s clever too! After he eats, he dashes behind the couch because he knows the vacuum is coming. He’s easy to care for, has great litter box habits, and is up-to-date on his vet care, including a recent full exam and his FVRCP vaccine. He's used to a quiet life and has only had limited exposure to children, but he was gentle and sweet with a small 4-year-old visitor. Lucky has never lived with other animals, so it’s unknown how he would do in a multi-pet home, but his gentle nature makes us think he may adapt with time and patience. Lucky is grieving the changes in his mom’s health, and it’s clear he knows something is wrong. He deserves a soft landing and a new human to bond with—someone who will give him love, affection, and maybe a few of his favorite treats. Lucky lives in Eugene with his caregiver and is indoor only. His rehoming fee is $25 This cat is offered for adoption due to the owner's personal circumstances.
