I adopted Scotty in January 2021 when I visited a friend at her apartment. He was hanging out on her porch and it turned out he was homeless. I immediately knew he and I were meant to be together so I took him in. He moved from San Antonio, TX to Portland with me in November 2021. During that 2000 mile trip he only made one peep. He is a very good traveler and doesn’t make a mess. He has been through my side ever since, but unfortunately I’m having to make one of the most difficult decisions to rehome my sweet, playful and affectionate tabby because I’m going to be incarcerated soon and don’t know anyone in the area willing to take him in. I accept the fact that if someone could take him, they want to keep him permanently but I’m willing to have a conversation about that. Please consider giving my sweet boy the good home he deserves that I can no longer give him. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and SCOTTY - Offered by Owner was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, SCOTTY - Offered by Owner’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the SCOTTY - Offered by Owner’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, SCOTTY - Offered by Owner’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
