About this Cat
Stella is a small 9-month old striped and dotted tabby cat with a more exotic coat pattern in shades of charcoal and soft gray. Stella came to us as a “shrinking violet” having lived most of her kitten life in a separate room from other cats in a rural rescue. Fast Forward and she is now in an open home environment and she is getting used to the varied sounds of family life. She is now a 100% lap cat with the people she knows - Stella jumps on our laps, climbs on shoulders and would prefer to be snuggled than to play until she gets the zoomies and is darting around like a gazelle... this kitten is FAST! There is still some “stranger danger” on initially meeting new people but she will come out quickly when someone she knows is also in the room. Stella might take a bit to be comfortable but that is because of her early start, not because she isn’t a sweet and loving pet. She plays with our friendly and older adult male cat, Karl, and our gentle giant Gus just ignores her and they sleep on our bed just inches apart. Stella likes to play with toys she can toss - things that look boring to ME, she makes into a toss-and-chase game. Her catnip banana is found around the house and she kicks it around like it was a mouse to play with! Solitary play is ok although I think a friendly cat or dog that wants to be a buddy would be great for her. Stella sleeps on our bed at night with our aging female with no aggression on either part. She does chase toes under the blanket but does not bite, she just pounces. She has not known a dog but if your dog is ok with cats (i.e. no chasing or barking) I am sure they could be friends. As far as children go, she would like to have them play with her but she can might play bite when she is over-stimulated so kids would need to know her "warning signs" when she has had enough. I would say no young, toddler or really active, loud kids. Stella is just learning about the world and sometimes acts like a kitten (rolling around and trying to show off) and she investigates everything and is a very curious girl. I have not seen her play on the cat tree much but she does use it to scratch and stretch to her full lanky teen girl length. She has recently taken to sleeping on the top round cattree bed - looking out the window at our bird feeders Stella is spayed, tested negative for FIV and FeLV, vaccinated and had preventative worming and flea treatment. She is indoor only and her adoption fee is $150. Stella lives in Hillsboro and is shown by appointment. Stella is a people-lover and needs a home with someone who will to show her interactive attention and let her sit on your lap while you work (she wants to be helpful!)
