About this Dog
Astrid is an Anatolian / Pyrenees / Akbash / Blue Heeler mix. Her parents were raised around goats, chickens, rabbits, and turkeys and did an excellent job of protecting these animals. That said, Astrid has not been raised around animals. She is an inside dog. She used to live with our Yorkie Chewie but he passed away last year from old age. She loved playing with him. She also lives in a house with two cats and does a great job of tolerating their crazy outburst without retaliating. She has beautiful grey eyes, brindle coloring and is very loving. She is also a very large dog that needs a yard bigger than ours and loves to bark. Her birthday is June 2, 2022. We got her for my daughter 3 years ago when she was a puppy. My daughter has moved out and could not take her due to Astrid's size. My fiancé and I have two small children and can not keep her due to not having the time to care for her properly. She is not getting the walks she needs and lays around sad while I am working from home. She is a little anxious around new people, She has already been spayed and her last vet visit I believe was around six months ago. She is a very good dog but has had little to no training from my daughter who moved out. We just do not have the time to care for her and she has to be the lowest priority with two small babies. She has been very good with them but she makes my fiancé nervous because of her size so I need to find her a new home ASAP. She is close to 70 lbs.

Adopt Astrid and Receive Astrid's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Astrid's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$10 is Astrid's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Astrid, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Astrid's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Astrid was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Astrid’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Astrid’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Astrid’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
