About this Dog
My name is Robin, and I’m looking to find a safe rescue placement for Rowdy and Paisley, a bonded pair who recently lost their longtime owner. I know the deceased owner and her family do not want these dogs in a shelter or pound setting. Their owner, Peggy, passed away, leaving the dogs without a permanent home. I stepped in as their temporary caregiver specifically to keep them safe while a responsible placement could be found. The previous owner’s family cannot take care of her dogs. They wanted to take them in to be euthanized to be with their owner, and I am doing everything I can to see if we can find them a home and keep them alive. I can take care of them temporarily, but this cannot be a long term arrangement due to their safety. I have two large dogs, and a neighbor dog that is aggressive, and need to be kept separate from Rowdy and Paisley. A little about them: Rowdy is approximately 10 years old, neutered, and believed to be a Pug/Chihuahua mix. He is still active, affectionate, loves to snuggle and wants to be close to his person. He is very frightened by storms and does have some occasional indoor marking. He also has a longstanding cough that was told may be related to his trachea. Paisley is approximately 7 years old and a medium-sized female mix, possibly Corgi, Jack Russell and/or Cattle Dog. She is described as very smart, attentive and a good listener. If you are unable to take them, I completely understand. If you know another rescue director, foster coordinator, senior-dog rescue, small-dog rescue, or trusted contact who may be able to help, an introduction or referral would also mean a great deal to us. How will Rowdy receive the contribution?

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Rowdy was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Rowdy’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
What happens to unclaimed funds?
We want the Rowdy’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Rowdy’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
