About this Dog

We adopted Stein from a rescue in Oklahoma and still have his folder, which includes his birthday and other information from the time of his adoption. He’ll turn 7 in December 2026. He’s up to date on his vaccinations, neutered, and currently receives flea, tick, heartworm, and other parasite prevention.

Stein is a very sweet, affectionate dog. He gets along well with our cats and is friendly with children; he has never had any issues with our kids. He mostly gets along with our German shepherd, though he can guard his food bowl and may start a fight around mealtime. However, the only time the food fights have ever become an issue was when he was kenneled together at the vet with our other dog. He does best kenneled alone.

He loves being outdoors and has plenty of energy, so a home with space to run would be a wonderful fit. He’s obedient, comes when called, is house-trained, and knows basic commands such as “sit.” Stein can be a frequent barker, so we use a rechargeable bark collar to help keep the noise down in our neighborhood. You’re welcome to have the collar if you adopt him.

When we adopted Stein, we were told he was a Mini Aussie–Rat Terrier mix. He now weighs about 50 pounds—much bigger than we expected!

This is a very difficult decision, but as a mom caring for three children and five pets, I’ve found that the costs and responsibilities have become overwhelming. I’m hoping to find Stein a loving home that can give him the time, space, and care he deserves.

How will Stein receive the contribution?

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Stein, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Stein's contribution here.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Stein was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Stein’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

What happens to unclaimed funds?

We want the Stein’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Stein’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
