Hi, My name Rufus. I am a 1.5-years-old and about 35 pounds. I am neutered and up -to-date on all my shots. I think I’m some sort of border collie mix. I am a very energetic and anxious dog looking for a new home. Preferably with no other pets and a big yard with a fence. I am very food driven, love to lay in kitty pools in the summer and chase squires. I am good with cats but like to chase them. I am good with my dog brother but can be mean to him, and don’t love unknown animals. I am very loving when I am relaxed and looking for someone who can take me on long walks or gives me tasks. I am also good with children, but don’t like when they get too wild or run away from me as this makes me anxious. I need some extra training and attention as I can be defiant and even though I am potty trained, I like to go in the house. I was crate trained as a puppy but grew to not like the crate and get very noisy when I am placed in one. I hope someone can give me my forever home. My adoption fee is $72.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Rufus was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Rufus’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Rufus’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Rufus’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
