About this Dog
Meet Dougie, a senior shorter-haired pyr mix with a heart as big as his gentle soul. Dougie is the epitome of easy care—he loves lounging on a comfy dog bed or the couch, enjoying life at a peaceful pace. Housebroken and leash-trained, he has excellent manners and gets along beautifully with other dogs. While he’s not a fan of loud noises or children, Dougie thrives in a quiet, stable environment where he can feel safe and loved. He’s a loyal companion who adores attention on his terms but is perfectly content napping nearby when you’re busy. Some of his favorite snacks include Nubz treats from Costco and beef jerky from Trader Joes! As he prefers to be indoors where it’s calm and cozy, he does not go for neighborhood walks (they’re just so scary!). He enjoys the freedom of roaming around his 5’ fenced-in yard, and coming back inside if he hears something unknown. Despite being a bit overwhelmed by the outside world, he is a very polite car-rider and sits nicely for spa days and even nail trims. He rarely says anything, but will bark in disappointment if you leave the house, and also in his excitement upon your return! His sadness at your leaving is eased if he has a doggie companion to comfort him. Dougie’s ideal home would be with a canine friend and a couple or individual who is home most of the time and appreciates his sweet, low-key personality.
