Bixby is a charming, goofy little Shih Tzu–Poodle mix (Shih-Poo) weighing just 8 pounds and estimated to be around 6 years old. Don’t let his age or small size fool you though—he’s the biggest 'class-clown' you'll ever meet. Bixby isan energetic, playful pup who absolutely loves the company of other small dogs. His ideal forever home will have a similarly small, young, playful canine buddy to help him burn off some of that energy. He truly shines brightest when he has a partner in crime (and it's hilarious to watch their antics). This smart boy has wonderful house manners. He's leash-trained, likes car rides, is completely housebroken and shows no interest in marking. He doesn't chew or get into things he shouldn't… which has earned him freedom to roam when his foster parents need to go out. He sleeps soundly through the night in his foster mom's 'big bed'. In between play sessions and walks around the neighborhood (another fave), Bixby enjoys raiding the toy box and snuggling up to his humans…because while he certainly doesn't lack energy, he’s also deeply affectionate and soaks up every drop of love and attention he can get. Bixby will need regular professional grooming to keep his coat healthy and comfortable. If you have a groomer reference, please include it with your application. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Bixby was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Bixby’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Bixby’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Bixby’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
