About this Dog
We got Frankie, January 2025. She was very sick with kennel cough so she was very docile and meek. We were told she was good with other dogs, and she seemed to be fine on her first and second walk once she started to feel better. We live in a very dog friendly neighborhood, so we were excited! We explained that we needed a dog that was good with other dogs for this reason. I don’t think the shelter was aware of how she is when she’s healthy. So we don’t blame them at all. About a month later, we quickly realized she was very vicious and aggressive with other dogs. And now there have been multiple times where she’s barked and growled at kids in our neighborhood as well, and that makes us very nervous, as we would like to have kids in the future. We’re just in over our heads. She’s so sweet with us, and she loves all of our friends. She loves to cuddle and she loves her toys! She loves doing tricks and she loves treats and watching “Shrek”. She just isn’t a good fit for us, knowing what we know now. We’re very sad to have to make this decision, but we only want the best for her and our lives just don’t match up like we thought they would when we first adopted her. She’s definitely and inside dog for now, but loves to run around in the back yard and play! Lots of fun 1 year old dog energy!

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Frankie was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Frankie’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Frankie’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Frankie’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
