About this Dog

I live in Cleveland and have a wonderful 3 year old retriever/lab mix that I adopted two years ago from the Cuyahoga county Animal Shelter. Frank is happy, loving and content when he feels safe but he has some trauma from his pre-rescue life which has caused anxiety that has manifested in aggression towards strangers. He is an absolute MUSH once he knows/trusts you and he goes to doggy daycare at Metro Barks twice a week, has no issues with the staff or other dogs. He also spent a month in house training at Elite 911 in North Royalton, OH, where he has learned basic commands (to go to his place, kennel and other commands). Recently my daughter had a baby and she and her husband are concerned about Franks aggressive behavior around strangers and think Frank would be happier in a home where there are not a lot of people coming in and out of the house. I have five children and two grandkids and a very open-door type home/lifestyle. I am heartbroken because I love him dearly but I want to do what is best for him and I fear my busy/crowded life is too much for him. I would like to set up a time to talk with you about your services and resources in Ohio to help me find a loving & suitable home for my buddy Frank. I am not looking to place him back in a shelter but rather to find a permanent home with a companion who has the energy & environment to give Frank the calm & loving life he deserves. I am 66 years old and have had dogs my whole life, including rescues, but I have never had to re-home a pup so I'm seeking help. Thanks so much, Peggy Jones

Adopt Frankie and Receive Frankie's Fund

Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Frankie's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.

How will Frankie receive the contribution?

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Frankie, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Frankie's contribution here.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Frankie was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Frankie’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

What happens to unclaimed funds?

We want the Frankie’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Frankie’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
