About this Dog
YUKON is a very good boy looking for a home with people who don't suck... Storytime -- Yukon was an owner surrender at a rural shelter. He was sure this was a mistake and he needed to get back home so he escaped the shelter and ran. He ran about 5 miles and managed to find his way home. His loyalty was rewarded with a trip back to the shelter where he was dumped once again this time with 2 other dogs, Cisco and Wrangler. That sucks. Yukon is a sweet, wonderful boy who did not deserve this. Yukon is a long and low basset hound/beagle mix guy, around 5 years old and 40 pounds. He shares his name with an SUV, and he's kind of like an SUV -- he isn't fancy, he's just big and comfy. Yukon has a wonderful disposition, he's good with everyone, people, other dogs, kitties, he fits in everywhere. He's loyal as the day is long, loves treats and loves to noodle around in the yard. He appears to be housebroken and okay in a crate and walks well on a leash. Yukon needs a home with a physically-fenced yard. If you'd like to meet Yukon, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Yukon at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate. All our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on flea and tick and heartworm prevention.

Adopt Yukon and Receive Yukon's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Yukon's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Yukon's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Yukon, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Yukon's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Yukon was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Yukon’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Yukon’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Yukon’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
