About this Dog
Beautiful VERA is a sweet young mixed breed girl with a stunning brindle coat. She's right around 1 year old and fully grown at 30 pounds. Our best guess on breed is some cattle dog, beagle and who knows what else. She landed in a shelter with brindle beagle mix Ranger who we *believe* is her daddy. Vera is a timid dog who needs some time to warm up to new people. She needs a home with a confident friendly dog who will help her navigate her new life. She's best suited to a home with a physically-fenced yard. If you'd like to meet this lovely young girl, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Vera at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on flea and tick and heartworm prevention.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Vera 2025 was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Vera 2025’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Vera 2025’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Vera 2025’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
