SKYLAR has earned a 5 star review from her foster parents! She is an absolute gem of a dog who charms everyone she meets. Skylar is a well-mannered girl who loves to play with her foster siblings. She's a 5 year old long and low beagle mix-type girl who was out of options as an unclaimed stray in a rural shelter. She was not a stray for long as she is pretty significantly overweight. She's currently 43 pounds with a goal weight of 35 pounds. Skylar is housebroken and crate trained. So far she's been a perfect houseguest in her foster home, no accidents or mischief. Skylar is dog friendly and loves to make new friends. If you'd like to meet Skylar, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Skylar at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on flea and tick and heartworm prevention.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Skylar was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Skylar’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Skylar’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Skylar’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
