URGENT ADOPTION NEEDED (By Oct 2025) – Cincinnati Area It breaks my heart to say this, but due to an urgent and unstable housing & financial situation, I may need to rehome my beloved dog Cannoli in the coming months. Cannoli was recently spooked by a maintenance worker at my apartment and bit him, and due to that incident, my complex has ordered that he be removed from the property. He’s currently staying with my boyfriend temporarily, but it is not a long-term solution. I’m doing everything I can to avoid rehoming him, but I need to be realistic and make sure he’s safe and loved — even if that means letting him go. Cannoli is truly the best dog I’ve ever had. He’s around 2 years old, neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and completely up to date on all vet care. He’s crate trained, but he’s also totally trustworthy out of the crate — no barking, no chewing, no accidents. He is great with baths & nail trimming too. He just naps while you’re away and greets you with love when you return. He knows basic commands like sit, stay, lay down, wait, leave it, stop, “out the kitchen,” and more. He does have fear reactivity around strangers at first, but once he gets to know you, he’s incredibly loyal, loving, fun and protective. He’s done well with other dogs and cats with slow, intentional introductions. He even has been around chickens & loves them! He walks great on a leash, LOVES the car, and even behaves well in pet-friendly stores. We’ve been to dog parks many times with no issues. If someone is able to open their heart and home to him, I’ll do everything I can to support the transition — I’ll provide all his food, vet care, toys, leashes, treats, and anything else needed for the next 6–8 months. You won’t have to buy a thing. Cannoli just wants love and a safe place to land. If you or anyone you know might be the right fit, please reach out. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Cannoli was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Cannoli’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Cannoli’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Cannoli’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
