Foster Home Feedback 7/24/25 Foster Feedback: Pesto is still being such a great boy! To add to the feedback below, Pesto seems to have a bit of anxiety when he's left alone and has trouble settling down in his kennel. However, he does fine when we are home! He is a lover boy who likes to stay by our side, so I think that having another dog in the household would soothe some of his anxiety since he loves other dogs! Pesto would love to meet you! 7/17/25 Foster Feedback: This sweet guy is the perfect mix of easygoing and affectionate. Pesto is crate-trained and happy to relax on his own when he’s tired, but he also loves being near his people and will quietly follow you from room to room. He sleeps peacefully in his crate at night but has no problem curling up in bed if invited. Pesto is great with new people and only gets vocal when he’s genuinely excited — like when you come home from work. Otherwise, he’s calm and quiet, even during fireworks or when someone knocks at the door. Pesto adores walks and is getting better on the leash every day. He does get a bit whiny and excited when he sees other dogs, but he doesn't bark or growl — just wants to say hi! Inside, he loves lounging on the couch or bed near you, though he usually prefers his own space with a blanket once he gets warm. He’s not food motivated and tends to eat just once a day, even with food always available. But he does love Zuke’s treats! Pesto also seems to have incredible bladder control — sometimes needing a full walk to find the right spot to go. He hasn't had any accidents indoors and doesn’t use potty pads, which might be thanks to learning to hold it for long hours in a previous home. Pesto is also a big fan of window watching and soaking in the world around him. If you’re looking for a calm, loving companion who’s already got great house manners and an independent streak, this guy might be your perfect match!

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Pesto was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Pesto’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Pesto’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Pesto’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
