About this Cat
Major (1 year old) Major is a beautiful black cat who is looking for his forever home. He is sweet but rather shy, and he had a slightly rough and tumble start to life living by his wits with some littermates before he came to the shelter. We didn’t even see him for a few weeks because he used to hide in his room so well. But now he ventures out and about whenever someone comes through the door, and he wants to roll around at your feet and garner whatever attention you wish to pay him. If you sit for a while on the couch, he will eventually gain the confidence to jump up and sit beside you, purring and purring. Major gets along with other cats and loves to play. Because he is so close to the other cats in his litter, he should have a kitty friend rather than being an only cat. He would probably do well with older, respectful children, and he needs a patient owner who understands that he is still getting to know what humans are all about. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Major was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Major’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Major’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Major’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
