About this Cat

Murphy is a beautiful, male, long haired cat. He is 6 years old. He is up to date on his vaccinations and rabies shots. I give him Bravecta for fleas. He is overweight. I believe he weighs about 20 pounds. He does love to go outside, and he tends to stay near the house. He can be a really sweet cat, but he has anxiety. I have tried to medicate him, but he does not allow me to give him the pills. I also have multiple animals in the home, and I feel like that is also a source of anxiety for Murphy. He does occasionally pee on the floor, usually in a place that is easy to clean up, thank goodness(hardwood or linoleum, not rugs). He stopped peeing on the floor for an extended period of time, but has started again. I am not sure what the trigger is, but I really think that it is because there is just too much activity and animals running around, and he gets stressed. I have had added activity due to a friend staying at the house in the last few months. I love him, but I think he might be happier somewhere other than in my home. I rescued him several years ago when his first owner was going to surrender him to the pound. I think it would be best for him to be in a house with maybe 1 or 2 cats, but no more. He is terrified of dogs. I believe he needs a quieter and calmer household. Please feel free to ask any questions that you may have. I will be happy to answer them.

Adopt Murphy and Receive Dogecoin

Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Murphy's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).

How will Murphy receive the Dogecoin?

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Murphy, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Murphy's Dogecoin here.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Murphy was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Murphy’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

What happens to unclaimed funds?

We want the Murphy’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Murphy’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
