About this Cat
Gertie is a female grey and white shorthair cat born on Dec 27, 2023. She is smart, loving, and playful. She does not like to be alone and should be adopted with another cat or kitten or into a home that already has cats. I do not know how she would get along with dogs, but expect she would adjust quite well. Gertie is very vocal if she’s left alone, stuck in a room, or wants to be fed. She’s a bit mischievous and will get into the fridge, dryer, dishwasher, etc, so lots of vigilance will be needed to make sure she doesn’t end up in harm’s way. Sometimes she curls up on your lap or sleeps next to your head in bed. Gertie may require Fortiflora (available for purchase on Amazon) to keep her stool firm or she may outgrow the need. She is very attached to me and may take a little while to adjust to her new family. I would love if her new family will share with me how she adapts. The adoption fee is $150. This covers the cost of spay/neuter, PVR, Rabies, flea, tick, ear mite and worm treatment. To adopt, you need to first fill out an application. Go to: https://rutherfordcountyhumanesociety.org/cat-adoption-application/ We are located in Western North Carolina. Optional transport is weekly. After your application is approved, we will contact you regarding cost and delivery if you so desire.

Adopt Gertie and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Gertie's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Gertie's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Gertie, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Gertie's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Gertie was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Gertie’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Gertie’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Gertie’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
