About this Dog
Look at this HAPPY DUDE!! Yuri is a remarkable German Shepherd and Belgian Malinois mix! Yuri found himself in a challenging situation as a stray in a rural NC shelter. Despite the odds stacked against him, this 2.5-year-old handsome boy stood out with his friendly personality and unwavering spirit. He was adored by all the staff, which helped him get into rescue. And that’s when Yuri’s journey took an inspiring turn. Yuri knows no stranger. He is a gentle soul at 65 pounds, who craves human companionship – he wants to hug every human he meets! His eyes light up when he receives kisses and cuddles. What a love bug! Yuri does well with other dogs, both large and small. Lately, his pal has been a black pug named Winston, among others. There are no cats in his foster home, so it is unknown if he gets along with cats. Yuri is also good around children but will need to be reminded that it is not appropriate to jump. He will also need someone who is patient and will help him with his leash manners. He is otherwise well behaved – potty and crate trained. He can even be trusted to roam freely when he's home alone. He is extremely smart, and would benefit from an active family. He loves to spend time during the day waiting by the front door of his foster home, watching the street activity. He does not bark a lot, but does get excited when he sees birds! Yuri enjoys playing fetch, and going on long walks. He is an exuberant and extremely energetic boy, that will need to be exercised and given jobs to do on the daily. His foster mom would like to see him placed in a home with a yard, although she believes that he does not require a fence. Ideally, someone would be home most of the day, and will ensure fun activities like hiking and going to the park. He is a great passenger in the car! Let’s find Yuri the loving family he deserves! If you are interested in making Yuri a part of your family, please contact your adoption coordinator. If you do not yet have an adoption coordinator, please complete an adoption application at www.freedomgermanshepherdrescue.org. He is currently being fostered in Asheville, NC.

Adopt Yuri and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Yuri's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Yuri's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Yuri, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Yuri's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Yuri was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Yuri’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Yuri’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Yuri’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
